If your metal gutter has a leaking joint, use H.B. Fuller Roof and Gutter silicone sealant to fix the problem.
Firstly, as work with gutters normally involves working on ladders, ensure any job involving ladder work is tackled with safety foremost in mind.
Once you have located where the water is leaking inside the gutter, clean the area using a scraper or wire brush so that fresh silicone will adhere well, and wipe down the area with a dry cloth.
Cut the seal on top of cartridge and screw on the nozzle, then cut the nozzle to the desired bead size at a 45 degree angle.
Fit the cartridge into the applicator gun, then hold the gun at 45 degree angle and push forward, squeezing the trigger to gently fill joint.
Ensure the sealant is gunned into all the gaps and joins.
Within 5 minutes of application tool the sealant, ensuring it is in good contact with the gutter. Don’t apply the sealant in large blobs or stripes that would result in water pooling in the gutter.
If masking tape is used to produce a neat finish, remember to remove the masking tape before the sealant skins.
Then leave the sealant to cure, job done!
